Kid's Zone - A New Free Fun Spot For Kids!
For those parents with children ages 3-11, a special "hands on" learning session for arts and crafts will teach youth and parents how to create various projects. "This new event is a way for parents to channel some energy from their kids towards a hands on activity - an avenue to allow kids to be part of the Art Festival and display their talents, say Amy Volker, Kid's Zone developer. We have a lot of fun projects: pumpkin decorating, candy corn magnets, coloring and drawings are a few of the activities we are planning. We invite parents to take a break from the show floor and spend some "one on one" time creating with their kids, say Volker. Stations for the various projects will be set up so parents can choose the one of their liking. "We appreciate The Halstead Bank sponsoring this New Event this year, said Volker.
The Kid's Zone will be located in front of the Band Room and Auditorium entrances. Parents are encouraged to bring their child and participate throughout the festival.
Antique's Alley - A New Event
Along with the Kids Zone, another New feature is the Antique Alley. " We discussed the Antique displays and our board gave the ok to include them this year, says Beth Ann Kingsley, Art Fair Director. We have had a very good response from antique dealers and our spaces are almost gone. The antiques will surround the Quilt display located in the commons area of Halstead High School.
